We heard heavy shooting outside at around three in the morning and we immediately ran towards Mt. Shingal.

At around noon we were stopped by ISIS. We had almost reached the mountain; we were almost safe.

They took us, my whole family of fourteen.

They took us to the town (Shingal) and then to Talafar.

The terrorists were scared of coalition air-strikes so they kept moving from one town to another around Mosul.

They separated the women from the men and took me and seventeen other girls back to Talafar.

They kept moving us around: a month in Zommar, three months in Qasrol Mehrab and then in Hayol Khazra for six months.

They then took my Mum away and took me back to Talafar.

The worst thing I saw was the mass killings in Shingal.

There were so many corpses on the road.

The saddest thing I remember is when they raped a 12-year old girl before my eyes.

They had no mercy.
