All minority ethnic and faith groups where targeted by ISIS, but the Yazidi Kurds received the worst blow - savagery of genocidal proportion. The survivors are now living under harsh conditions in makeshift camps, left to grieve over their lost loved ones.
The shock of it all is that not only foreign jihadists, but their own neighbors turned on them.
Would they ever be able to return to their homes and live alongside those who killed their men and raped their women? Would they ever recover the trauma? Or would they be forgotten and be left to their grievances when the world's attention moves elsewhere?
